A Summer's Day At The St. Rita
Hotel
Ma Deitz may be dead and gone, but people still
come to the St. Rita to relax. Nowadays, you can take an early bike ride
down to the end of the Island or an afternoon's excursion to the famous Barnegat
Light house.
Planning your day is difficult because the options are so many and
so tempting. For active hours there's tennis, bowling, golf, (miniature and
championship), sailing, sports and swimming in the ocean or bay. You can
walk down to the beach; two blocks away are two large courts. Take a stroll
to downtown Beach Haven where there is a group of lovely shops. Next door
to the Hotel is the Long Beach Island Museum, down the corner a pitch and
putt course, or you could simply lounge on our vintage porch, the perfect
vantage point for watching life flow past at its unhurried pace.
Within a few blocks are several cocktail lounges, a public library,
movie theater and summer theatre.
The day ends with yet another decision-where to dine. There are many restaurants
within walking distance that are very good. Finally you may retire to the
quiet of your room.
